Design Focus: A 6 Slot Stator That Holds Up Under Pump Load

A pump motor spends its life at one operating point, pressed against a hydraulic load, and it is started against a closed outlet. That is a different duty from a fan or a gimbal. The 6-slot stator here has fewer, wider teeth, which gives more copper cross-section per slot for the same 41mm diameter - useful when the winding has to carry continuous current without a large temperature rise.

Winding consistency is what keeps vibration down. Stator resistance is held to 1.08 - 1.12 Ohm at 23-26 C with a polar difference under 0.01 Ohm, so the three phases produce almost identical torque and the rotor does not get a once-per-revolution kick that would show up as pump noise. The drive board is mounted on the motor, so the customer connects supply and a PWM signal only.
