A 12 slot stator with concentrated three-phase winding gives a dense, evenly distributed magnetic field, so torque ripple and the audible whine of the gimbal axis drop together. No brushes means no arcing noise and no dust. Combined with low-friction bearings and a matched magnet ring, the motor runs at 820 RPM at only 24 mA and is rated for up to 20,000 hours of continuous duty.
